If you are going out en femme for any length of time, you are eventually going to need to use a restroom. I don’t know about you, but I don’t yet feel comfortable going into a women’s restroom because I may scare someone. Because I fear being assaulted, I also won’t go into a men’s restroom. That is where one of the best crossdresser resources, Refuge Restrooms, is of such great benefit.
Restrooms and the Law
Some states and localities have laws against transgender men and women using public restrooms that are not of their biological gender. When I am traveling, being jailed is the last thing I want to happen. This is why I recommend that you research the laws of where you are going before you need to go.
If you don’t have time to do that research, you can use the Refuge Restrooms app to find places that have gender-neutral or transgender-friendly restrooms. Just open the app, and it directs you to the nearest restroom, hopefully in the nick of time!
Three Ways to Find What You Need
You can use Refuge Restrooms three ways. You can use the Refuge Restrooms website, download it for free from the Apple App Store, or go to Google Play.
Using the app is fairly simple. It will use your current location to direct you to the nearest accommodating restroom. Alternatively, you can enter the name of the city you are visiting, and it will show nearby restrooms on a map.
Help Wanted by Refuge Restrooms
While the concept of the application is terrific, there is one flaw in it. Some parts of the country are better represented than others. So the people at Refuge Restrooms can really use your help. By adding restrooms to their database, you will be helping your fellow sisters in need.
One can add a restroom using the app or the website. All submissions are anonymous, so you don’t have to worry about someone finding out about you.
